Lights in Walla Walla

Walla Walla Reliable Nights (+Days) Out

Winter in Walla Walla hums right along with reasons to go out. Plenty of places have recurring nights out, where you can show up and know something’s waiting. Check out our selected monthly take or search the more comprehensive view at Visit Walla Walla. Either way, there are no bad choices.

🕺Dance the Night Away

Wine country doesn’t hibernate, and neither do the tasting rooms. Several spots keep a steady winter rhythm with music and social nights. You can count on them, week after week, glass in hand, music in the background.

  • Mercer Wine Estates hosts Tuesday Tunes every week. Expect rotating acoustic and folk performances that create a warm, unhurried vibe.
  • Henry Earl Estates Wines offers a similar weekend rhythm, with live music that can lead to dancing or settle into an easy night of listening.
  • House of Smith keeps line dancing alive with regular Wednesday night line dancing. No experience required—just boots, rhythm, and a willingness to move.
  • Capital Call delivers live music with their Third Fridays and regular Sunday afternoon jazz to close the weekend with style.

The performers may change. The music and energy stay consistent.

🎶Music Everywhere

Some places have simply earned their spot in the weekly routine. At Walla Walla Beer Parlor (theirIG account is the best place to keep tabs), there is always something – whether pop-up Pho on Tuesdays, or Los Amigos Con Groove on Thursdays—a lively, recurring set that pairs perfectly with a cold pint (because it takes a lot of beer to make great wine).

🍷👥Out with Friends

Reininger Winery — Local Tasting Sundays
Sundays | Limited time (winter)
$10 tastings (waived with bottle purchase) plus 20% off bottles — designed with locals in mind and perfect for low-pressure winter outings.

Browne Family Vineyards — Après-Ski Sundays
Sundays | 4 PM–Close (all winter)
A cozy Sunday tradition with wine, relaxed vibes, and a reason to stretch the weekend a little longer.

Mercer Vineyards— Meet Your Neighbor Mondays
3rd Monday of Each Month (5-7)
Another reliable winner from Mercer Wines. Whether new to Walla Walla or a long-time resident, come and meet some of your new neighbors over a glass of wine.

The Thief Shop — Wine Tasting Thursdays
Thursdays (5-8:30)
The Thief sells wine and beer (and spirits) from all over, but the fun is on Thursdays when they pick some bottles and open them for tasting. Check their Instagram for any given Thursday’s theme – but know that this is a great way to low-key hang out with friends any week.

🍸Cocktails on a Whim

Tuesdays at DW Distilling are a ritual. Their O Club brings a low-key, speakeasy-style evening built around creative cocktails made with DW spirits. Each month features a rotating bartender—sometimes also a chef—pouring specially crafted drinks surrounded by WWII memorabilia.

Also worth marking on the calendar: Marcy’s Bar hosts live music regularly – follow them to see who is up next.

And for more fun with nibbles and a monthly theme, check Cocktails with Kim at the Walla Walla Steak Company. You’ll leave with some new skills and likely some new friends.

🎥Movies and More

  • Echolands Winery hosts Friday night movie nights that pair perfectly with wine – and often with a catered dinner.
  • Burwood Brewing offers Trivia Thursdays, another consistent reason to get out of the house.

✅The Takeaway

Winter isn’t about chasing one big night. It’s about knowing the rhythm of Walla Walla: music every weekend, trivia midweek, wine and cocktails flowing, familiar faces around every corner. Show up, grab a glass, and join the pattern—you’ll leave thinking, I should do this more often.

Yes, you should.
