Walla Walla Valley: Great People Making Even Greater Wine

Walla Walla: the town so nice, they named it twice! Sure, you’ve heard that one before. Beyond the wheat fields and famous sweet onions, this small agricultural town is making waves with its killer wine scene.

Walla Walla Valley is settled in the southeastern corner of Washington. It spills into Oregon. This wine region (AVA) is known for its diverse landscapes. It boasts over 130 local wineries. With a mix of soils and elevations, this region offers a one-of-a-kind soil and weather for grape growing. Hot summers and cool nights produce bold yet balanced wines, and most importantly DELICIOUS!

What makes Walla Walla stand out is the community of the people who make up this industry. Many smaller wineries share spaces and equipment when needed. Then there’s the harvest late nights that don’t end until 2 AM, and sometimes start at 2 AM. It’s days of multiple press cycles. There are long hours of cleaning equipment and counting down the time until you can crack open a beer. As the saying goes, “You need a lot of beer to make great wine.”

We’re here to bring you these wines and their makers. Where else do you get the chance to hear about the wines from those making them? (OK, other than in the actual winery). You’ll hear directly from the winemakers about their wines. What do they love? What do they want to hear from you about their wines? You’ll be able so see it all and share it all here.
