Cabernet Sauvignon: Learn More About It

Cabernet Sauvignon: When you think “red wine,” this is often it. This is the go-to red that’s anything but basic. It ranges from smooth and fruity to deep and intense. Dark fruit, a little spice, maybe even some earthy notes. It’s a grape that shows up worldwide, making every bottle different, but always with that structured kick. It is one of the classic noble grapes. It’s a classic for a reason. It complements steak and other meats quite well. Surprisingly, it pairs with jambalaya too, where a softer cab can play nice with the spice.

Washington Cabernet Sauvignon: In 2022, Washington harvested 67,015 tons of grapes, up from 50,865 tons in 2021. This kept it as the most planted grape in the state. It accounted for just under half of all the red grapes harvested in 2022. It also made up just under 30% of the entire harvest.
